Balance to Buy Pro Tip

Objective:  Making sure all of my categories and price points are covered for the fall season

Solution:  Balance to Buy Category by Price Point report

 

 

STEP 1:

Go to the Summary/Detail tab.

 

STEP 2:

Select Categories from the drop down menu.

 

STEP 3:

Select the Date Range that you would like to see. Suggestion: Look at October 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015. That way you can see what the sales were for the 4th quarter of last year.

 

STEP 4:

If you input your purchase orders into your point of sale system, Click the Include On Order Items box located under the Bulk selections. The items on order will then appear as in stock. 

 

STEP 5:

In the Detail Column drop down box, select price points.

 

 

This report will show all of your categories, beginning with the top performing category in sales dollars. The second column will show your price points for each category.  This report makes it easy to see where your sales and inventory are by price point and how well they line up with each other. 

 

If you have multiple stores, in the Detail 2 column, select Stores. You will then be able to see if you need to redistribute merchandise throughout your stores to correspond with the sales in each store
